Abby's Race for Hope 5K will raise money to be put into a special needs trust for Abigail Van Meter. The money will be used for specialized therapy services and other care needs that are not covered by commercial insurance or medicaid. The event will also serve to create public awareness for congenital CMV, the virus that affected Abby. Congenital CMV is estimated to affect 1 in every 150 children, and is a major cause of debilitating deficits in children.

The course is not too hilly, but is not completely flat either; it is a big loop that starts from shelter 2. There are not too many twists or turns and there IS quite a bit shade. Last year was our first year doing the race and we got positive feedback.
Hope this explanation helps.
