This trail run is on the Willis River Trail in Cumberland, Virginia . It is a five-mile, out and back trail, passing through the Piedmont Hills of Cumberland State Forest and Bear Creek Lake State Park . The run is 95% trail and about 5% dirt road. There are not any significant elevation changes but the trail crosses five creeks and has numerous short hills.

Grand Prix
This is a Richmond Road Runners Club Grand Prix Race. Each year the club runs a series of races and members collect points by placing or volunteering at the events. At the end of the year the male and female winners are announced as the Grand Prix Champions at the club's annual banquet.
Place
The race takes place at Bear Creek Lake State Park in Cumberland, Virginia. It is about 45 minutes from Richmond.
Course
The course is an out and back on trails climbing small hills and crossing streams.
