You can run a 5K anywhere, any day, but this 5K offers a gorgeous, riverfront course that helps support our environment. The Race Without Trace course offers runners access to areas and islands along the river in downtown RVA that are opened up only for this running event. As an added bonus to all the parents out there, this race offers free, on-site childcare provided by the Downtown YMCA. After a great morning run, runners, friends and kids can stay and enjoy the official Richmond Earth Day Festival at the historic 17th Street Farmers’ Market.
The beautiful course starts and ends at the historic 17th Street Farmers' Market. The run takes you along the canal, onto Chapel Island along the James River and through great Shiplock Park. You will run some of RVA's most beautiful, undiscovered historic areas of the city. Cross the finish line at the official Richmond Earth Day Festival, starting at 11:00 AM.
