The High Country Half Marathon, presented by Foscoe Rentals, is the second race in the High Country Triple Crown series. The course starts in the ASU Kidd Brewer Football stadium and follows a picturesque 13.1 miles along Winkler’s Creek and Shull’s Mill and then ends in the quaint town of Blowing Rock after taking in the most spectacular views in North Carolina. Participants registered by August 6th are guaranteed a shirt and reduced registration fees. Awards for the High Country Half Marathon include first, second and third places in ten age categories in addition to overall awards in both the adult and grandmaster (age 50+) categories. All finishers will receive race medals. Runners who complete all three races in the Triple Crown are eligible for $1500 in cash awards as well as special prizes and a discounted registration fee of $100 for all three races.
The other races in the series include: The Cub Seven Miler (May 27) and The Knob -- Two Miles of Pure Hill (September 30).
All proceeds from the High Country Triple Crown race series are donated to the scholarship fund of Girls on the Run of the High Country. The High Country Triple Crown is a program of the ASU Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Institute for Health and Human Services.
