Event Description

This is the third running of this RRRC GRAND PRIX RACE. The race starts at 1 pm allowing everyone the chance to recover from New Year's eve. The course is challenging and should be a good warm up for the winter racing season.

Make a donation to the Monacan PTA so you don't need to volunteer at this club race.
Join RRRC today and save $5 on the race (students $5, individuals $15, families $20).

Registration
The fee is $10 for RRRC members and $15 for non-members before December 15 and then increases to $15/$20. Online registration closes 11:59 pm, December 26. Onsite registration opens at 11:30. The Richmond Road Runners Club is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected applications. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please do not mail your application after December 19. Just bring it to the race.

The Course
The 10K course is a loop through the streets of the Smoketree and Stonehenge neighborhoods, starting and ending next to the Monacan H.S. football field. The course is hilly and measured to US Track & Field standards. This is the third year for the race. The best times were Cary Chaffee in 32:18 and Anna Catanese in 39:06, both in 2009. Water will be available on the course. Mile markers will be on the course.

Location
The race will be run from Monacan High School located at 11501 Smoketree Drive in the Smoketree section of Midlothian off of Courthouse Rd.

Grand Prix Race
This is a Richmond Road Runners Club Grand Prix Race. Each year the club runs a series of races and members collect points by placing or volunteering at the events. At the end of the year the male and female winners are announced as the Grand Prix Champions at the club's annual banquet.

Awards
Pink or Black Knit beanie hat to all pre-registered runners. Trophies to the top three males and females, male and female masters and Athena (>150#) and Clydesdales (>200#). Ribbons to the top three in five year age groups.

Timing and Results
The race will be computer timed by the Richmond Road Runners Club. Results will be posted after completion of the race online at www.rrrc.org.

Random Prizes
Random prizes will be presented after the race while the results are being tabulated.

Refreshments
Non-alcoholic champagne, water, sport drinks and Papa John's Pizza will be served after the race.
