ReeseStrong 5K Run/Walk and Gold Ribbon Kid's Run for Aileen

Aileen Johnson, age 9, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor earlier this year. She has endured surgery, radiation and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. A large portion of the proceeds from this event will go directly towards her medical and rehabilitation expenses. The ReeseStrong Foundation is dedicated to helping families stay strong in the battle against childhood cancer.

About the Course

The course is set in the neighborhoods of Rutland and Cool Spring Forest off Route 301 in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Timing will be provided by the Richmond Road Runners.

Gold Ribbon Kid’s Run for Aileen

The Gold Ribbon Kid’s Run will take place in the Rutland Commons shopping center. There will be two kid’s runs.

Children ages 5 and under will run ¼ mile.
Children ages 6 – 12 will run ½ mile.

All children who sign up for the Gold Ribbon Kid’s Run will then be able to participate in the ReeseStrong 5K run/walk at no additional cost.

Entry Fees
Children 12 and under - $5
Everyone Else $20 thru Sept. 4
Everyone Else $25 Sept. 5 - Race Day

T-Shirt Information

All children 12 and under who are registered by August 25th will have their name listed on the back of the T-Shirt. All participants who register by September 4th will be guaranteed an event t-shirt.

Prizes/Awards

A variety of prizes and awards will be given out including recognition of the top 3 male and female 5K finishers.

The ReeseStrong Raffle

Raffle tickets for a variety of cool items can be purchased during packet pick-up and on race day. (1 ticket for $5 or 5 tickets for $20)
