Supporting running in the metro Richmond area
You don't need to run a marathon to see all the beauty that our city holds. Richmond's Earth Day 5K Race Without a Trace has a new course map, and it shows off the best the city has to offer. This casual run starts in the beautiful Libby Hill Park at the 1894 Monument for Soldiers and Sailors, winds up into Chimborazo Park and into Church Hill, one of the oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods in Richmond, heads over towards the 17th Street Farmers' Market then down to the Virginia Capital Trail along the river with a finish line at Great Shiplock Park where you'll join the party already in progress! That's right, this race is held in conjunction with the Richmond Earth Day Festival. The race will start at 11 AM as the festival is kicking off, and when you cross that finish line, you'll be steps away from live music, vendors, food and drink, demos and plenty of educational information and activities.
The race name says it all - our goal is to combine one of the city's most environmentally friendly races with the most fun possible. Who cares about speed when you have the best Earth Day festival in the state at your finish line, beer on tap, live music, great food, and over one hundred eco-centric vendors cheering you on? So come on out and enjoy some of the best views that Richmond has to offer.
Registration is just $30 and includes an official Earth Day 5K Race Without a Trace t-shirt.
