Run for Hope 5K (Amelia)

The “Run For Hope” is a 5K run/walk through the beautiful historic courthouse village of Amelia County along part of the route of Lee’s Retreat.

Awards
Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall Male
and Female. Awards for top three finishers in each age group, Male and Female. Age Groups:
14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49,
50-59, 60-69, 70 and above.
Short Sleeve T-shirt to the first 200 entries.


Benefit
At Hope Chapel, the funds that are raised from this funfilled family event go to sponsor the building of and monthly support of an orphanage in San Dino, Nicaragua, one of the poorest parts of the world. Recent efforts have been focused to help the Gulf Region area as they rebuild after the horrible destruction of hurricane Katrina. A team has been sent this past February to Los Fresnos, TX and Matamorus, Mexico to help with construction of Casa de Amor orphanage. Funds will also go towards the support of our local ministry, which provides free services for those in need here in Amelia County. In its first 2 years, “On the Go” served over 15 families with various home building projects such as wheel chair ramps, window
replacements and floor repairs. We anticipate this year’s event to be better than ever. We are planning for 200 runners and walkers to take the streets for a fun filled day that will change the lives of people in need. Could you spend one or two hours on a Saturday morning to be a part of something that could change the local community, nation and world? Please set aside Saturday morning May 16th to “Run for Hope”.
