Event Description
Run to the River is becoming a fall tradition for Richmond runners and families. Tackle three hills, dash through historic neighborhoods, and race along the banks of the James River on the 10K Hill Run. Or for an adventure for the entire family, come for the 5K walk through the scenic East End. After the race, join us at the finish line party, where you'll enjoy live music, refreshments, and a free massage.

Great fundraiser race in the East End. Course goes through Fulton Hill, across Libby Hill park, down cobblestone paths to a trail along the James River by the train tracks and back the the Neighborhood Resource Center on Williamsburg Rd. Like an urban cross-country race! A leg burner of a course too, with three major hills along the way.
The event party afterward was also a blast. Incredible food table for everyone -- homemade muffins, fruit of all kinds, chili, brownies, coffee ... and more. Live music too. Very well-organized. This was the NRC's thrid annual race, so I expect this one to gain in popularity with all the runners who want a challenging 10k alternative in a different part of the city with an on-road/off-road feel.
