Supporting running in the metro Richmond area
What is RVA Streets Alive?
Inspired by open streets projects all over the world, RVA Streets Alive! is about closing streets to cars and opening them to the public — for one day — to create a whole new healthy, sustainable and vibrant city street experience. The event is FREE and open to everyone to do what you wish – run, walk, bike, roller blade, WHATEVER!
When is RVA Streets Alive?
Saturday June 20 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM
Where is RVA Streets Alive?
What is the Richmond Road Runners Club (RRRC) doing for RVA Streets Alive?
The RRRC will be running the loop. Continuously. From start (10:00am) until finish (2:00 pm)
We will have leader for each lap of the run. Some will run fast, some will run slow. It is not a race. It is a fun run to enjoy the day and to say we did it.
Each lap will start every 20-30 minutes from the RRRC tent.
What do we want our member to do? What can you do?
JOIN US! For one lap, two laps or all the laps. We will have the RRRC Tent set up. Run/Walk, work the tent. And we will have water to help keep you hydrated. Wear a RRRC shirt or one of our race shirts (if possible).
Our idea is to have at least one person running at all times. But the hope is that you will come join us. And some laps may have many, many runners showing off the RRRC and enjoying the day. And to have fun!
And by running you will be able to see what else is going on at the festival and enjoy those portions after your run.
