The program will have four schedules aimed toward the Mardi Gras Marathon in New Orleans (Feb 28), the Nat ional or Shamrock Marathons (Mar 20/21), the Boston Marathon (Apr 19) or the Eugene, OR Marathon (May 2).\n\nFor each out of state marathon, we have teamed with travel professionals and we will have an RRRC lea der to help you coordinate your travel, accommodations, etc.\n\nWhen y ou sign up for the group, here is what you get:\n-Training program (st arts on Saturday, December 5 but you may join up through Jan 15.)\n-Or ganized weekly group runs on Saturday or Sunday morning\n-Weekly pre-p lanned routes for the long runs;\n-Self Serve water stops set up with cups, water, and Gatorade\n-Assistance with travel logistics for one o f the sponsored races\n\nFees for the RRRC Marathon Training Group:\nS ince we will be using public facilities, we are asking for the followi ng donations to defray costs.\n\nRRRC Members $10\nNon-members $25\n\n RRRC Membership in RRRC is only $15 per year for individuals. By regis tering for this team, you are in effect becoming a member of the RRRC. The group is limited to 200 participants but we reserve the right to make sure we do not over tax public facilities. Training Team fees are non-refundable and entries are non-transferable, no exceptions. Although we have not put an entry dea dline on the program, after January 15, entries will only be accepted at the discretion of the coaches.\n\n\nCoaches:\nThe Head Coach of the Program will be Mike Davi.\n\nLogistics:\nThe weekend runs will be st aged from the Dogwood Dell in Byrd Park on Saturday and Sunday morning s, leaving promptly at 8am (time will change as daylight increase and the weather warms.) Routes will be posted on the Spring Marathon Train ing Group section of RRRC website each week prior to the run. In order to get team emails, you must join this “group” as a member on the RRRC website.\n\nTraining Program:\nThis program is designed for expe rienced runners who have completed previous marathons. It is NOT desig ned for novice /first time marathoners. Participants should be in cond ition to run at least 7-10 miles for the first group run. Runners will be responsible for their own safety on the roads.\n\nThere will not b e a sign-in/out list, so it’s advisable that runners do not run alon e. This training program is a cross between a training team and a soci al run. People go to have fun. At the same time the group is experienc ed runners who are there to train for a marathon. The groups leave on time and generally don’t waste time at the water stops. The training groups provide a group atmosphere for you to run a pre-planned route with individuals of equal or better ability.\n\nThe Long Slow Distance workouts on Saturday or Sunday mornings will run similar routes as mu ch as possible, and will be designed to accommodate running different paces. The group will be provided with water stops of water and Gatora de, but they will generally be unmanned.\n\nCoaches are there to lead the groups and answer questions.\n\nMore Information:\nIf you would li ke more information about the Marathon Training Group, we invite you t o join us for a run.
