Event Description
The Race:
This is the 33rd year for this race. The course is an out and back with a mile downhill at the beginning and a mile uphill at the end. The course is on roads along the James River. Course records: Male Overall - James Coleman 31:11 (1988) Female Overall - Lynn MacDougall 35:25 (1994) Male Masters - Thom Suddeth 32:43 (1990) Female Masters - Cecil Astrop - 39:28 (1995)
Registration:
The preregistration fee is $5 for RRRC members. The preregistration fee is $5 for RRRC club members and $10 for non-members. Race day entry is $10 for all entrants. Club membership is only $15. Entry fees are non-refundable and entries are non-transferable, no exceptions. Do not mail entry forms after May 26. Instead sign-up online though 11:59 p.m. on May 31.
The race is limited to the first 400 participants. Registration will be closed when capacity is reached.
The Course:
The 10 k (6.2 miles) course is an out and back course. It starts on the road beside the shopping center and descends down a fast 1 mile to a flat scenic run along the James River for about 2 miles to the turn around point. The return course is a reverse of the outgoing, back up that same starting hill. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY. BE ALERT, WATCH FOR TRAFFIC & PAY ATTENTION TO COURSE MARSHALS.

The race will be staged from the Stratford Hills Shopping Center, on the corner of Forest Hill Avenue and Hathaway Rd.
Grand Prix Race:
Each year the club runs a series of races and members collect points by placing or volunteering at the events. At the end of the year the male and female winners are announced as the Grand Prix Champions at the club’s annual banquet.
Packet Pick-Up:
Race numbers may be picked up on Race day starting at 7 am.
Awards:
There will be awards to the top three males and females as well as ribbons for the first three people in the standard RRRC five year age groups. Awards will also be presented to the top Clydesdale and Athena.
Race Timing:
The race will be computer timed by the Richmond Road Runners Club. Results will be posted after completion of the race online.
Race Photos:
Will be provided by Total Photography.
Random Prizes:
Random prizes will be presented after the race while the results are being tabulated.
Refreshments:
Will be available after the race.

I had a blast. It was probably my best time for a 10k since I started running a year ago. And I got me a yellow award!! (3rd in my group... I hope there were more than 3 ladies in my age group. LOL)

Sad I had to miss this one. Dr's orders, after I got the shot in my foot, no running for 2 weeks.

Decided not to do this today. I was not prepared for this one. It only cost me 5 bucks, so this was fine. Have fun runners who finishes this event!
