Supporting running in the metro Richmond area
The 2015 Wings of Hope Trailblazer Trot (a 5K and 10K timed, walk/jog/run event for humans, not horses) is being held at Millstone Farm, a private farm in Quinton, VA. It is open to the public only for this event. The 5K and 10K USATF Sanctioned courses are mostly on cleared and easy-to-navigate trails, with a couple segmentson pavement. There is one short section, about two-tenths of a mile, that is uphill on a trail and has some tree roots and things to navigate. The trail winds through the woods, across a covered bridge, around beautifully manicured ponds, statues and fields. Most parts of the trail are wide enough to allow passing as well as two participants to walk/run side by side. The 5K will be timed manually and the 10K is chip-timed by Impact Timing LLC. Course marshals will be out along the course if anyone needs assistance. Participants may walk, jog or run. The 5K course is doubled to make the 10K course. You will know your "split" time half way through the 10K.
