Hi Richmond Runners! I’m organizing a tandem walk, a "Live Aid" idea, to coincide with the “We Climb We Care” walk being held at my home place in Beara, West Cork, Ireland. “We Climb We Care” is a charity that was set up by my sister in Ireland in memory of my niece who passed away suddenly last year. It brings together family and friends to remember her during the challenge of a mountain climb, and to raise money for deserving charities. For more information visit We Climb We Care’s Facebook page. The tandem Richmond Walk will be an informal and fun event - an opportunity to get together to explore and navigate the beautiful James River and travel part of one of its best paths - the Buttermilk Trail. The walk will be 4.2 miles long and will start at 8:00AM (1:00PM Irish time). The walk in Ireland is about 10 miles long and by the time we start at the James they will already be 2 hours into their walk. Come join in the fun to support the endeavor back home. Bring your friends, family and pets to wander along the James on Easter Sunday morning and let's show the folks back in Ireland how we roll here in Richmond. Suggested donation: $10 per person / $25 per family.
