Check on EBay for a 305, I have seen some for around 200
They have 405's, 110's and 405CX's for under 200 bucks on amazon (Though you probably know that already, just throwing it out there :D). I have the 405CX and I almost go on every run with it! It functions pretty well, but the touch bezel is sometimes pretty unresponsive on the run, even when set to highest sensitivity, and it acts really weird in heavy rains. I only need one field to look at, so all those problems are small to me. It's pretty accurate, but I always run .10-.20 more than what I ran for good measure. I do believe the difference between the 110 and the 405/405CX is the 110 doesn't display you current pace, only average pace, and the 110 doesn't have a virtual racer, but I never use that anyways.
I have a 201 from years ago and replaced it with a 305 a couple of years ago. Bought my wife a 205 at the same time off Amazon, total came to around $300. I find the 305 to be far more accurate than the 201 and I never lose the signal on it.
I picked up the "old" Forerunner 405 on Amazon for around $150... I'm happy with it & it works well for my needs.
Thank you all for the advice. I know I will find the right Garmin for my future runs. Thank you again for the ideas! Anne C :-)
