Hey Iron Man, I almost forgot me too... and I only ran with you for a mile or two yesterday. I ran with me for 8 miles.

Super run with the intermediate group today, it was a great route and a good bunch of people.  It was nice to have Kristina back with us and newbie, Kitty (who was feeling under the weather).

When we got back to the park, there was a HUGE group of women runners of color there.  It was so large a group, I thought it had to be some kind of event happening.  I asked around and it turns out to be a new groups premiere run "Sistas Do Run".  It was  a great bunch of women committed to learning to run and supporting one another.  I didn't quite get what time they start, either 8:00 or 8:30, and they ran 2 miles today, with many of the participants running for the very first time.

Please mark your calendars for January 28th's regular meeting of the BPG.  The Richmond Runners of Color, and hopefully this new group, and BPG, will all be getting together for a combined group run.  It'll be a wonderful opportunity to run with some new energy, make new friends, and encourage newbies.  More on this to come.

Rosie, when April and I got back to the park after 12.5 (Colleen continued on for 14), I was cooling off and saw them running.  Two women came running in and you could tell that one was really encouraging the other.  They got to the finish and the one being encouraged let out a huge whoop and said something about not being able to believe she just ran 3 miles.  She had the biggest smile on her face.  Shortly thereafter she walked by me toward her car, and I had to tell her that she made me smile and that that feeling was what running was all about.  It made my day!
