Hey there Byrd Park group, I just wanted to let everyone know the Richmond Firefighters will be hosting the "Beat the Heat 5K" again in Byrd Park again this year. The date is June 20th and will start at 830 with a kids fun run at 800. More info to follow, you can go to the active.com website to register. I can be reached at lawrence.glidewell@richmondgov.com. secret track report:
edwin, eduardo, hot rod, mc, one cent, churn and burn, k car, whom else, megan, and sarahj.
e, e, hr,m,mc and sj did 6 x 800 w/ 1 lap recovery. kc,oc,and we did alternate 400's. cab got more rehab detail, and is improving. we started on the lacrosse field or the bpg combine, as hot rod calls it, and finished up on the track. cab and kc got in some straightaways.
as always, we had some individual work on injuries and on running form. thanks to all for attending.
wed secret track is up in the air, so unless otherwise posted, join the detention run.

THURSDAY MORNING RUN UPDATE: Most of the regulars are out of town or MIA this week so Bert and I are meeting at 6:30am at Stratford hills for a leisurely run...for all of you sleepy heads who can't make 5:30, it's a good morning to join us...Chevy?

Detention Run Report: tonight we did the Carytown 10k route/played Frogger on Cary Street. Margaret, had a bag of Sport Beans with 1-2 cups of water 30 minutes prior to running as instructed, ran like she was shot out a gun this evening leading the whole way. Sarge, Jesse, Joel, Karen and iFred attempted to keep pace. A good time was had by all! Next week there is talk of some hills.

I hate to say but we played frogger this evening. It was pretty scary seeing the Detention Run on Cary Street just before 7, especially with my 16 year old driver in tow. Still, Sarge was in command and iFred looked strong! Thank goodness we didn't clip anyone.
