We have several groups that run at 7:30, so it's a pretty big crowd in total. And it depends on what you mean by "beginner." Have you run before? If you haven't, or aren't doing more than a mile or two, Woo (the menace) leads folks around the .9 mile vita course, jogging and doing fitness stations (monkey bars, etc.), getting you ready for longer runs. My group is typically 3-5 miles, but we're mixing it up for the next few weeks; for instance, we ran hills last week. Just show up at 7:30 sharp, and we'll get you into the right group. We meet at the entrance of the vita course.
Kato's Warriors attacked the hills again, passing Fraulein Maria and all those Von Trapp brats. Five times to the toll plaza, five times the other way, maintaining good consistency until the last hill, when we all stepped up our game, some more than others. On board were Kat-eye, Gretzky, Kato and special guest Mad Max. Next week we relay.
Yay, all of you guys rock! So, does this mean we treat you all to bloodies next week at Joe's?
That's every week Kato!

Shout outs to you and Johnny also!

Most improved runner goes to Mad Max!
Windsor Farms/Libbie Loopers,
Thomas, Jamie and 10k Champ Garbs. Rod da Bod, Fast Sara, Special Ed, Rainbow Sara, Edwin. Elaine, Mikey, Bert and Rick all the way from Va. Beach. Smarty Jonz, Rosie, Ifred, Perry Como, Jimbo, The two Susan's (the tall and the short), Margaret and finally 2.0. Talk about huge numbers! Most ran 8 but some turned for home at Lock and Grove. We just missed the rain. Congrats to Rodney the new Belt holder (give it up Rosie). Thanks to Woo and Kevin O' Conner for the Hardware. Next week some are meeting down at Browns Island to run the Scramble course. I'll be running the Crossover 15K in Northside so I'm not sure who will be at the Park.
Some Bandit group stoled our table at Joe's this morning !@#$%^&*()_+

Thanks Woo and Kevin for a great memento of the greatest running group in central Virginia! It great to run with such a supportive, wonderful bunch of Yankees Fans. The weather is getting beautiful and there are many spectacular runs to be done, starting at the Vita Course.

beginners/recreational report:

at long last, the return of rambo! so good to have ya back. the house of pain is always open to ya, as it is to all others. megan from nebraska, churn and burn on the mend, and k car. k car and rambo welcomed the speedsters as they tackled the ninja warrior course. a little crosstraining, never hurt anybody. today also signaled the return of the pushup bar (hey como, take the hint!). a good time was had by all. thanks to all for attending.

awards were given out this am to sarge, perry como and 2.0 for their contributions to the group. very simply, they are the reason that bpg is what it is. our thanks go out to them.

oh yeah, i wonder what the menace ordered in the way of bpg gear this week?
I did not ignore the push-up bar! Since I ran a short course, I did ten while waiting! ha ha

Thanks for our awards! We are very honored to receive them! And thanks to Rosie for the special mug! The BPG rules!

Very beautiful and well-deserved!!! The carved names are so cool and exquisite!! You all are awesome!
Mike, Susie and Sarge - congrats on the awards. In the immortal words of John Houseman shilling for the long-defunct EF Hutton, you did it the old fashioned way... you earned it. Neither rain, nor snow nor recurring overuse injuries have kept you from your appointed rounds.

Susie, thanks for running with me this a.m. and almost getting hit by that idiot driver with me. Thanks also for loaning me the Didion book and the free RW issue. Seeya next week!
