-oct. 16, fall foliage festival bike ride, 3 major climbs in 50 miles ( "this is another fine mess, you've gotten me into....")

bpg saturday bike ride report:
we had this ride on saturday because megan of kansas, nebraska, va, d of c wanted to ride, but of course, guess what? she was late and did not make it. oh well, next time, or the time after...... we had alphonse rambo, alphonse laverty, alphonse como, kirstin, JD, and R squared.
kirstin did a brick. everyone got their mileage up in rather warm and humid conditions. alphonse como ran a kid off the road twice. JD and R squared managed to get pulled by the sheriff/ goochland police. take not, not alphonse laverty, and not alphonse menace, their fleeces were white as snow. no citations were issue, no taser, no handcuffs, no pepper spray. and we had bpg bike mechanic clinic day. does that cover everything?

bpg Sunday Bike Ride report- Small group today, JD, Menace and Rambo battled the weather conditions this morning to complete a few laps. A little damp, a little chilly, a little achy, but a nice ride to get a few cobwebs out. All in preparation for next week's dual day Heart of Va. Ride.

Sharon came out later too - JD ended up with 40 miles. I think Sharon got in 3 loops.
We helped some guy with a flat tire too.
Lesson today = when you ride alone (like he was) make sure you have a spare tube - levers - and at the very least a small frame pump or better frame pump and Co2 kit. Luckily for him I did - he didn't! Oh and have a floor pump handy too! He got to keep riding today because of good BPG karma....

Sunday run report: Mikey, Bruno, Ned, Rod, Charlotte, Rock, and I all ran various distances. Most of us were tired from long runs on Saturday. Rod was fresh as a daisy and must have felt like he was barely moving running with us!
