Exciting!  Enjoy the rest this week while you can ; )

I will not be able to lead the Intermediate group this Sat, so anyone feel free and step up and lead

Max

And good luck Jess

Ivette sends her regards as well

I'm back! My IT band is finally behaving after some PT and I am hoping to join you all tomorrow morning in the park. I am planning on doing my 9-mile long run. How far are the groups planning to go and at what pace is the longer run usually? I have to keep my pace back a little due to my IT. Thanks!

Alexis

James and I won't be at the park Saturday either cause we're doing the Sweetheart 8k.

About the Shamrock - Where is a good place to stay in VA Beach for the race?  Since this is our first time, I though I'd get input from y'all.  Do you stay at the hotel the race recommends or some place else?  Neither of us are all that familiar with the area.  Thanks!

DeLacy - any place you can get a room at this point, there pretty much gone by now.

Good luck you both of you at the race!

Last year I stayed at Springhill Suites. The room was nice, it included free breakfast, and for a few extra dollars I could check out late. I think they may have some rooms still available. This year I am staying at the Beach Spa Bed & Breakfast. They have a couple of rooms left. I would try to find a room ASAP. A good web reference is Trip Advisor. The site tells you the best hotels to stay at in a city. I hope this helps.

Detention Run Report: People ran varied distances tonight...joining in on the fun was Edwin, Father-to-be-Hot Rod, Wolfie, Erin, Sarge, Kim, Ed, i Fred, Ned, Brooke, Karen, and Jerzee Sara. It was a great night for a run and we had lots of fun! Thanks for the company everyone!

If anyone is interested in doing 18 tomorrow or any part of it, let me know.  I run about a 10:15 pace.  I plan to start with the Libbie Loop and add on.

Here is my course, but I can modify it for company if someone is interested:

Thanks to Rosie and Kim for sticking with me through 11 or so.  Had a good time and Rosie led us through some pretty cool places with pretty houses.  Richmond truly has a lot of charm.  Did 18.05 today  at 3:00:35 which shakes out to a 10:00 flat avg pace.  Woot Woot!  3 minutes faster than last week.  Beat my half marathon PR by a minute as well.  Only bummer was the faceplant I did at 17.5 miles.  Stepped in a pothole and went down like I had been pole-axed.  Nice raspberry on my knee, but I popped right back up and finished.
Way to go Ralph! Watch for those pot holes! Good job!!
You are the IceMan for sure Ralph.  Great run today, keep it up!
I'll be back out there with you all tomorrow, too. Finally got the OK from the PT to get out and do about 7 miles on Sat.
