Sheila Luellen, who I know from being a regular at the Commercial
Taphouse (on Robinson St.), is confined to a wheelchair and has
no means of transportation. Steve, her partner, has to help her in
and out of a standard van, which is very difficult for someone who is
paralyzed.
Some kayakers are organizing a benefit dinner/fun night out at the Camel (owned by an active whitewater kayaker) on Broad St. on Saturday night, Jan. 10 to raise money to purchase a
handicapped accessible van. Tickets are $20 and include pasta dinner
and live music all night (drinks also available for extra). A 50/50 raffle will be offered for $3 per ticket.

I am definitely going to be there and helping out. If you could
attend, that would be awesome! I would hand deliver or mail your dinner ticket
or raffle tickets, if you cannot attend the dinner. I can tell you that several RRRC members and frequent message board posters have already purchased tickets.
Let's get some running community support out there! Please spread
the word - this is going to be a good time and a great cause.
