Richmond Road Runners

Supporting running in the metro Richmond area

Last year we gave away coats, vests and "the Stick" to winners in 5 year age groups. Looking for ides for this year. The race will be the East Coast Region 10M Championship. The course will likely be changed from last year but will not cross the James River.

Thanks,

Ed

Runners always need a way to fund their habit.

Always nice - Prize money…

Or

Gift Certificates from Runner Bill’s, Road Runners, 3Sport, and Dicks….

When the brochure comes out, they can have their names next which ever age group(s) they agreed to sponsor. They get advertising and runners in their store, and us runners get to purchase “stuff” with less out of pocket funds.

PS: How about a nice cotton shirt instead of the non-technical “technical” shirt that local races have been giving out?

I have to say I've been liking those non-technical technical shirts from the local races this year. So, my vote would be to keep them:)

Dudette: is that why I have not seen you at Goodwill at all this year????
Dude:

Found something better than Goodwill.......Dumpster diving:)

Dudette
Dudette: if you insist on getting your running apparel from the dumpsters, at least take a Marine Corp shower ( spraying down all the appropriate areas) before coming to your next race. Thank you very much!!!
Two ideas for you, I liked the backpacks that the Du gave to participant last year. They were really nice and not the string bag variety. Or how about a years worth of race registrations to all Road Runner's races, that's a great saving for runners.
Free entries would be great but hard to administer.
How about a voucher for a Road ID? http://www.roadid.com/
I tried to deal with roadID last year and they were not interested. Will try again.

I like the cotton shirts with the capital theme but please some color other than white. Backpacks are also a good idea. I still use a backpack that was given away to all runners at one of the BB&T 10/20/30k races a few years back. It is good news that the course will change from last year. I'd like to see something different like sending runners down the bottom into Churchhill, past Poe's Pub and back up MCV Hill. Or incorporating some of the North Bank or Buttermilk Trail. Make it challenging instead of looking for a fast and scenic course. I like that you are soliciting suggestions.
Hi Ed
I would be glad to donate a few massage gift certificates. I would love to be out there offering free massages/stretching at the race again this year.

I believe you can purchase Gift Certificates directly... i saw the link on the far right of their menu. I have heard of people in other states getting these certificates as race prizes and raving about it.

Though, i suppose you are looking more for a gift that is donated to eliminate costs.
