Supporting running in the metro Richmond area

The Krispy Kreme Challenge is  an event in Raleigh, NC where participants run 2 miles to a Krispy Kreme store, consume one dozen glazed doughnuts, and then run two miles back to the start point. All this must be done in less than one hour.

Has anyone ever considered starting something like this in Richmond? I think it sounds like fun.

Fun????? I ate ONE Krispy Kreme donut AFTER running a 10K in Va. Beach back in January, and it sat in my stomach like a rock! I can't/don't want to imagine eating a dozen of those things, then trying to run 2 miles.
When I was growing up in Charlottesville, the father of one of my classmates owned a place called "Spudnuts" that made doughnuts out of potatoes. I think a Spudnut race is a better idea, but my variation would be to run a mile and chug a beer, run another mile and eat 6 doughnuts, turn back around and run another mile for a beer and then stumble to the finish line. Of course we would want to finish on grass so that the regurgitated food could serve as fertilizer.
Problem. I believe if you buy 1 dozen, you may get a second free. Thus you may have to eat 2 dozens. Just a warning. Or does that increase the adventure?
I "ran" this race a couple years back. I think I ran the first two miles in about 13 min. I believe my spilt for the second half of the race was on the order of 30 min. I don't think I've ever felt more sick in my entire life. I felt really sorry for the volunteers on clean-up duty.
Can I just eat donuts to train for this?
