These trail 5k & 10K charity races start & finish on the Powhatan HS track - only 10 minutes west of 288/Westchester Commons. They follow the same woodsy trail system until 5k runners are instructed to turn & head back on a connecting trail near the 2 mile mark. The course is a mix of flat, packed dirt paths & rolling hills. After winding through the forests & fields of Powhatan, the 10k continues on a scenic loop around a large country lake & Christmas Tree Farm. Race proceeds go to the Powhatan Christmas Mother to help less-fortunate families during the holidays and to charity groups & athletic teams at PHS. Thanks for entering as an Individual or on a 10k Team!

I am so bummed! I'm signed up, but I am injured and can't run!!! This would have been my 5th year. Need any volunteers?
Sorry to hear about your injury. Sure with regard to the volunteering. The volunteers will be arriving around 7:45-8. They may need help at the registration table b/w 7:30 & the start at 9. Lots of jobs for sure. Also, we'll need marshals on the course to direct runners at a few spots near the start & finish. Just ask for Claire or Jeannie at the registration table. They'll be delegating tasks. Thanks!
Cool, I'll be there. If I can't run at least I can still be a part of my favorite race. I really thought about walking it, but my torn adductor muscles have told me in no uncertain terms that would be a very bad idea on uneven terrain (or even terrain).
