Supporting running in the metro Richmond area
I am looking for folks interested in training for the Richmond Marathon or NYC Marathon in Nov. I qualified for NYC with my 2011 McDonald's Half Marathon. Time objective is 3:30 for a 2014 Boston qualifying time in my age group. The Richmond Marathon is 1 week after the NYC Marathon, so we can adapt the schedules as needed.
My current training schedule is 3 mornings per week based on the FIRST training plan published on Runner's World. I have been doing the speed work and currently have the weekly long runs between 10 and 13 mi. Cross training is swimming or general core strength exercise.
I live north of Ashland but work downtown next to Tredgar Iron Works. I can meet in the mornings during the week or other times as scheduled.
Yes...I know that the Sportsbackers Training Group for the Richmond Marathon is available.
