Monthly Trail Run, Installment #2!!!

Interested in trying your kicks on the James River system of trails? Interested in exploring the trails in the company of others? Then come out for the February installment of the Monthly Trail Run (MTR). This run is for those of you that want to try trail running, and/or want to explore the miles of great trails that are at our doorstep.

The runs are approx. 7-8 miles in length. We will be running it (not racing it). If you can not run that distance, you are still welcomed to come out. However, you will have to determine when you should turn back, and then you'll have to do so on your own or in the company of anyone else that cares to join you.

Details: The run takes place on February 4 @ 8am. It starts and finishes at the gravel parking area on Pump House Road, immediately behind the Boulevard Bridge toll plaza. This month we will run south over the Boulevard Bridge, take the Buttermilk Trail east to Reedy Creek, cross thru the tunnels under Riverside Drive, run the Forest Hill Park trails counterclockwise, back under Riverside Drive to Reedy, then Buttermilk west and the Boulevard Bridge back to the lot. OF NOTE: There'll be a 10K trail race going on in Forest Hill Park. Thus, this will be a great opportunity to practice sharing the trails with others.

Needs: Trail shoes are not necessary! Road shoes as just fine. If you'll want fluid, then please bring something with you. Have something in your car for after.

this is Daniel @ Roadrunner....I will be there at 8am.  Even if no one else shows, if you want to run I am down to do the loop.   Galaxy Diner postrun????

i'll be there.  doing Buttermilk to Reedy Creek, Forest Hill Park counterclockwise back to Reedy, then back to the cars...

I will be there as well, brining a friend. Looking forward to it. The weather and trail conditions should be perfect.

To all that made it out today:  Cheers!!!  What a nice day.  What  GREAT GROUP!  And how about the great resource that we have with the JRPS trails! I've attached your picture!!!  So now get out there and embrace whatever February may have in store for us.  But mark your calendars for Saturday, March 3, 8AM.  

To those that couldn't make it out:  You've got 10 more chances in 2012!  The MTR will be announced on the message board on February 24 or 25, and will take place as noted above.
