Supporting running in the metro Richmond area
The June edition of the Monthly Trail Run will take place on Saturday, June 2 at 8AM. The run starts and finishes in the gravel parking area on Pump House Drive, immediately adjacent to the Boulevard Bridge toll plaza. The yet-to-be-determined course will be approximately 7-8 miles and will follow some configuration of the James River trail system (Buttermilk, NorthBank, Belle Isle and Forest Hill Park).
The Monthly Trail Run was developed to introduce road runners to the enjoyment of trail running and/or to give a runners a guided tour of the wonderful trails that we all have access to. There will be several experienced trail runners (your Sherpas) throughout the group to help out if needed. If you want to try something new, or want to learn your way around these local trails, then please join us! And bring a friend(s)!
Participants should be able to run 7-8 road miles at a 10-minute or better pace. Hand-carried fluid or a camel-bak is recommended given the time of year. Hovever, you will not need trail shoes to run these well-established trails.
Of note: There are porta-potties out there.
