Supporting running in the metro Richmond area
The August Edition of the Monthly Trail Run takes place rain or shine this Saturday at 8AM. The run starts and finishes in the gravel parking lot on Pump House Road, immediately behind the Boulevard Bridge toll plaza.
This run is designed for those wanting an introduction to trail running and/or wanting to learn their way around the system of trails along the James River. The runs cover around 6-8 miles.
Participants should be able to run 6-8 miles at a 10 mile-per-minute or better road pace. Trail shoes ane not necessary to run these well-defined trails. However, it is recommended that you carry fluid for consumption while running. There are porta-potties and lotsa trees on the route.
There will be experienced trail running "sherpas" there to run with you (PLEASE note that Sherpa Annie flatly refuses to carry supplies for the participants!). You will be able to look to the sherpas to give guidance, advice and recommendations.
The best part of the trail run, and any trail run, is the post-run sharing of drinks and treats!!! So, please feel free to pack a mini-cooler with something to share with others.
These Runs Are Fun!!! Join Us!!!
