The July Edition of the Monthly Trail Run (MTR) will take place on Saturday, July 7 at 08:00 hrs. The run starts and finishes in the gravel parking lot at the western NorthBank Trail terminus (Pump House Drive adjacent to the Boulevard Bridge toll plaza). The run will cover 6-8 miles of the James River system of trails (Buttermilk, NorthBank, Forest Hill Park, Belle Isle).
The MTR is designed for those wanting to discover the pleasures of trail running, to be introduced to thes James River system of trails, or just to come out and have a little fun playing in the woods! There will be experienced trail runners there as your "Trail Sherpa" guides. Heck, we may be graced with the presence of Q, Nigel, Hurley and/or Michael George!
You Need: Participants should be trained-up and able to run 6-8 miles at a road pace of 10:00 minutes per mile. I'll bet that it's gonna be hot. Thus, all should bring fluid for consumption during the run. There will be one water stop at a park fountain, as well as a port-a-potty here and there. As a trail runner's do, you are invited to bring post-run fluids and solids for yourself and to share (kinda like Hurley does)!
You Don't Need: Trail Shoes!!! Suit & tie or cocktail dress (the latter for Nigel).
