Richmond Road Runners

Supporting running in the metro Richmond area

Tomorrow's March Edition of the Monthly Trail Run will take place regardless of rain, sleet, snow, infestation, pestilance, drought, crop failures, national or world crisis, epidemics of any sort, etc. So dress appropriately if it looks like it'll be cold and/or wet out. And you may want to bring a change of clothes for after.

In the words of Bill Bowermen: There's no such thing as bad weather. Just soft people. So come on out and grab the bull by the horns!!!

I love those coming out to the MTRs!!! They're excited about getting off-road and have a strong sense of "group". That's the stuff that trail runners are made of!

The Details: The 7'ish mile easy-paced trail run starts on Saturday, March 3 at 8AM from the gravel parking area on Pump house drive immediately behiond the Boulevard Bridge toll plaza.

I will be there. The wetter, the better. Mud is good.

Mud is good.  Acoustic Hot Tuna at The Jefferson is better.  To bed at 1AM on a school night is the worst of all...

Looking forward to learning the ways of the Richmond downtown trails. Mud works. And I may have a running partner as well. Another human.

We'll have a great time.  Glad to have you on-board!  WooHoo!!!

Well, I'm not going to make it after all. Don;t want to risk re-injuring bad ankle.  Hope you have a blast.

Great run!  Didn't even get that muddy ;>)

This is a perfect run for those who want to learn the JR Trails.  How lucky are we to have such a great resource in the center of Richmond.  Looking forward to next month.

Thanks Mark

Ran from Manakin Sabot down to Richmond instead. Finished off the run with evil, nasty onion rings and beer at the Village Cafe. Hope to do the trails next month.

As Tom notes, we are truly fortunate to have this trail system. It is so nice to be able to run in a place that seems like it is somewhere out in the mountains, but is so accesible and close by.

Trails are closed when wet.  Please don't destroy them during wet, snow and sleet conditions!  I think the fire road are open during these coditions though.  We love dirt but mud gets us kicked of the trails.

Apparently, wet is not the determining factor.  Nathan advised me that the JRPS trails are closed for 24-hours following rain of =/> 1", which is posted on the signage.
