Supporting running in the metro Richmond area

Here's a partial list of spots to run in Richmond. Use this discussion thread to share your own personal favorites with other club members.

Bryan Park

Deep Run Park

Henricus Park
“A good place to run is at Henricus Park off Rt 10 going towards Chester. The trail there is wide enough for vehicular traffic. It is almost 4 miles out, mostly dirt with some graveled parts, and marked every .5 mile. So you can get in about an 8 mile run. You find a few walkers, bird watchers, some runners, and some bikers there. A very nice quiet place to run.” Thanx to Christy Gambill for submitting this.

Huguenot Park
Between Robious Rd. and Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield. ¾ mile crushed stone trail in the woods.

There are also over 10 miles of trails, with numerous loops. It is clean, quiet, and relatively traffic free. A one-year family pass is only $15.00. Open dawn to dusk except Federal holidays. Highbridge State Park. I generally run starting in Farmville but there are many locations to park. 30 plus mile trail crosses many counties. Beautiful quiet level country run.
From my perspective, anywhere there is a road or trail is a good place to run. Some are more scenic or challenging than others, but in the end you are simply putting one foot in front of the other. GPS technology has eliminated the need to stay on measured routes and frees one to travel in any direction they choose.

great workout for either novices or intermediates...
