Supporting running in the metro Richmond area
The RRRC mourns the loss of Pete Neal, until recently the club's coordinator of volunteers and a member of its board of directors. Pete's daughter, Rebekah, called today to say that her dad succumbed to the ravages of cancer on Friday, Aug. 29. Funeral arrangements are pending.
For anyone who would like to send condolences, this is the mailing address for Pete's wife, Kathleen, and their son, Jacob, and daughter, Rebekah:

He contributed greatly to the running community and will be missed. Rest in Peace Pete.
Pete was one of the sweetest runners around. He was absolutely dedicated to having more people involved in running, he wanted everyone to participate and everyone to receive accolades while doing it. The running community will truly miss this devoted running spirit. Peace for Pete and his loving family that he spoke of often and always beaming as he did so.
So sorry to learn of Pete's demise. He was one of a kind, always compassionate and encouraging. Richmond's running community is richer because of his existence. The world needs more people like Pete, and is diminished by his passing. May he rest in peace.
The loss is ours. Pete was a kind man and will be missed. Condolences to Kathleen, Jacob & Rebekah and the family.
Thank you for all you did for the running community Pete. Rest in Peace Pete.
