"...one of the biggest trail races in the U.S. at Pocohontas..."  Please qualify and/or quantify that statement.  Thanks.

Mark

Good morning Mark.  Thank you for your interest in Run Like a Girl.   Run Like a Girl assists the HERA Foundation in raising awareness of ovarian cancer and the fight against it.  One in 72 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer in her lifetime. It affects mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. With early detection 90% will survive. Currently, only 24% of ovarian cancer is caught early.

Run Like a Girl is a women's only event that has attracted over 1000 women at our Pocahontas event in the past.  This is a heartfelt event that encourages a healthy lifestyle and empowers women.  We celebrate life, share our experiences, and embrace each others stories.

I have no particular interest in these races.  My interest is in accurate information being posted to the RRRC's message board.  I very simply asked Judith Isbell to quantify and/or qualify her claim that the upcoming event is "one of the biggest trail races in the U.S."

I'm not sure I'm running the race, but I think it would be fun to do the training runs on Mondays and some Wednesdays (I already have a group on Wednesdays).  Would it be ok for me to run with you guys if I'm not running the race?

Hi Sarah!  We would love to have you join us! We look forward to seeing you there.  If for some reason a run is cancelled/changes, we post it on our Run Like a Girl facebook page.

FYI - RLAG also has local races, in October I believe, at Westcreek, a 5K and 8K.
