Anybody making new years resolutions regarding their running? Injury free, run a marathon, run a PR, lose weight?

I am past doing marathons, too old for PR's, have chronic injury issues and don't need to lose any weight. I am just going to run for as long as my body will hold out. Planning to run the New Year's Day race and then head to the mountains on Saturday. After that, it is anybody's guess.
General goal for 2010 is to keep on improving personal race times from this past year and going longer distances. Maybe, just maybe, run the Patrick Henry 1/2 Marathon in August when the weather is so pleasant:) Side goal is to respond to every post made by Joe "The Dude" Ryan; scare all the critters out of Pochontas Park; and find "The Gary Hearn" a job:)

My specific resolution for 2010 is just to keep on running since I also have seen my last PR. Unlike Gary Hearn, I do have some weight to lose so that is a secondary resolution. Another secondary resolution is to answer every post made by the "Dudette" and keep her honest on everyone of her boosts, half truths, and wild stories. I will start by saying that Gary Hearn has a job..... Its called "Full time Runner". Second, the next time she does a group run, would someone please explain the ENTIRE running course to her. And three, don't let her fool you......she doesn't know where Pocahontas Park is??????
Dude:

Guess I now only have 2 side goals for year 2010:)
Just started running recently for last 2 days. I play a lot of tennis especially in the summer and need to lose about 45-50 pounds. If I could do this, then I would be able to move so much better. I only ran once for several months for the sake of running and liked it. I found it to be addictive. My speed now is not much to talk about. About a 20 minute mile with half of it walking and half running. 3 years ago my weight was 281 and I got it down to 227, now it is about 231. Does anyone other than myself run this slow in the begginers, or should I be quiet and fade away? I would like to work up to a much better figure than the above and I generally run either Byrd Park or the one at Westwood and Brook Rds. I hope this will continue. If there is a group for people like me, then maybe I could meet up with the group.
Oh my gosh!!! Cary welcome to the world of running. As for your pace, what you are doing, run/walk is absolutly how you should start running. As your fittness improves you will be able to reduce the walking and increase the run time.

Have you considered joining up for one of the YMCA Monument Avenue 10K training teams? You so can do it. It will teach you so much about running and fittness, and best yet connect you to fellow runners that you can connect with (pace and fittness goals) and continue to run with after the race. And yes, run/walk is more than acceptable for running, including the Monument Avenue 10K. Considering where you are currently running, I would say you would want to do the program from the Downtown Y. And no you do not need to be a member of the Y to do the program.

You need to workout with Master Woo of the BPG! Ninja Warrior training! Saturdays at 0700 Byrd Park Vita Course. He'll work on your over all fitness. Just a warning, be ready to work! All must suffer and all do! You owe this to yourself for 2010!

I appreciate the help. 7 am is pretty early for me, however, this may be the start of a new life. I would like to start getting up earlier. I may see you at Byrd Park and I really appreciate the nudge. I have never run with a group before.
Cary;

Groups are fun. You will love the BPG folks. Oh, how do you know if you are running to fast????? If you can not hold a conversation and run, then you are running too fast. As in, groups runs while serious, are a group social. And, knowing others are depending on you to run with, helps motivate you to get up early in the mornings.
To Cary: I felt like I was reading something I posted myself... I weigh the same, but need to lose sooo much more. I signed up for Ukrop's 10k because my job is paying the dues & I need the motivation. Now I need training & a plan...
I have 3 goals in mind for 2010. First, lose the last 11 pounds so I can be at my ideal weight for my height and frame. Second, be consistent with running/exercise and eating. Third, PR in the 5K, 10K, and 1/2 marathon.

@Cary - I started running (2008) with the Monument 10K training team and it was a great experience. When I first started I could not run a complete mile. The coaches are great and very encouraging. Also, I met a lot of great people who were just starting out like me. You are doing great and keep up the good work.
My resolution is quite simple.
