Supporting running in the metro Richmond area

I'm looking to purchase a training watch that has a GPS receiver.  I would like to get something that is easy to use, tracks pace, distance ect...    The more I research- the more I get confused.  Can anyone  suggest a decent watch for more?

I would suggest the Garmin 205/305. Other than the color they are the same except the 305 has a heart rate monitor.
I would stay away from the Garmin 405. I have the 305 and the 405 and prefer the 305. It is a little larger and is not quite as fast to pick up a signal but easier to use. The 405 has a touch sensitive bezel that I find finicky. It is sensitive to moisture and will change screens when it is raining or touched by a wet shirt. The 305 uses a watch holder to charge and download to your computer. The 405 has a clip that hooks to your computer to charge it. It also uses radio waves instead of a hard line to transmit your run to the computer. I have problems with the 405 connecting to my computer and downloading automatically.
The Garmin 305 is great! I love mine. It is easy to use and I rarely have any issues with it.
thanks for the info all
Michael,

I'd agree with Ed on the 405 which I own. The bezel can be very sensitive and while you can lock it/unlock it to prevent any changes to the unit while running, just setting it up for your run can be frustrating at times. I've also used the 305 and found it simpler to operate and it gives me everything I need, ie pace, distance, history, etc...
Thanks, looks like the 305 is the way to go
I use the Nike + with my iphone because it was pretty cheap for the sensor that you put in your shoe and it seems to work well. Has anyone compared the Garmins to the Nike+? I really haven't looked at the Garmins but if they are any better or offer any extra gadgets, I might have to try one out.
