Supporting running in the metro Richmond area

This week's Tuesday Nite Workout is our trail rotation! We meet in Byrd Park's gravel parking area between Dogwood Dell and the dog park to begin running at 5:30pm. The run of 7-8 miles will cover some configuration of the James River trail system.

This run is for you if you can hold a 9:30 or better per-mile pace on the road, and would like to get off of the road and play in the woods.

You will not need trail shoes to run these defined trails. It is strongly suggested that you bring fluid for the run!

It is believed that our own Nigel Bavin has arranged for the Queen Mother herself to parachute into Dogwood Dell at about 5:15PM, so DON'T BE LATE!!! Let's rely on Nigel to bring an afternoon treat for Her Majesty, as all I've got are crumpets, which would obviously be a Royal SNAFU after 10AM.

It would be quite a spectacle to see the Queen MOther drop in by parachute, especially when considering that she passed away in 2002 at the ripe and old age of 101. I guess that would mean that Pierce Brosnan will play the James Bond role for this event.

One would normally have tea & scones after 3pm with petite sandwiches with the crusts cut off, salmon & cucumber is the best, not that i will bring any of these but i will see what is in the pantry.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was it appropriate to refer to Her Majesty as the Queen Mother? (see Jon's comment above)  Or am I some punk upstart from the gutter that is lacking in the finer points and social graces?

Yep i think you are correct in your statement - punk upstart gutter etc, but one is merely known as Her Majesty the Queen, the Queen's Mother passed away in 2002.
Definately lacking in the finer points !!!

I quit.  Off with my head!
