Nice post Susan. I am looking forward to running with the group. I won't be able to participate until Labor Day Weekend. I have signed up for my first half that weekend. I'm waiting to see how that works out before signing up for the half.

The Bryan Park group has officially started to train and prepare for the Fall racing and running season.  While many in the group actively participate in race events, the group is open for all ages and paces, and you don't need to be a competitive runner to have fun with our little group.

We have lots of interesting and scenic (and flat!!) routes planned for this season. The longer routes in preparation for the half marathon will include SAG stops, so anyone running with us that wants to stop at 6 miles can take a break at the SAG and be within walking distance of Bryan Park.

Also, we try to run the actual half route 3 weeks before the official race.  This has been very helpful to our group so that we know what to expect on the course.  Even folks that are not running the half will participate in the training and this practice run.

This is a fun and social group, and we are always looking for new folks to join us on our Saturday running routes.

Please join us at Bryan Park in front of the soccer fields on Saturdays at 7:00 a.m.  You will have a great time, and we are flexible to distances and paces for all runners.

Good afternoon, Road Runners. This is Susan D. with the Bryan Park Group. We have been together since 2008 and have a great group if you are looking for some running buddies that go for 6 mile routes with paces between 8:30 and 12 minute miles.  We run through the Park, Bellevue, Ginter Park and Lakeside.

For the balance of July 2011, we have decided to begin and end our Saturday a.m. runs at the Zacharias Ganey facility on Palmyra.  Due to the heat and some injured members, we thought it safer to run from ZG in case we needed water, bathrooms, etc. Chris Kelley has developed some routes that will allow for both shorter and longer distances to accommodate our members who are in full training mode or in rehab from recent injuries.

Please join us there, though we will return to Bryan Park in August to begin some half marathon training.  We will have shorter routes available for those who are not going for the Half, so all are welcome.  We meet at the soccer fields at 7 a.m. every Saturday - rain or shine - hot or cold.
