Yes, I do have a brace but mine is custom through my orthopedic. My running is very limited now. I tried to continue with OA in my knee but I if I try to run without my brace, I get a flare up so I stick to biking primarily now. Sometimes I will meet the group for the Recreational workout at the park on Saturdays but that is about the limits to my running. I hope you knee feels better. Keep the muscles in your legs strong and that will help. If it continues to bother you, you may want to get a custom brace. It is called an unloader brace it and it helps to "unload" the pressure from my knee on the OA. Good Luck!

Not sure what's happening at Pocahontas. Joe and I were running there pretty consistently but right now I'm recovering from childbirth. I'm hoping that in the next few weeks (definitely by December) I will be up and running again although at a very easy pace.

Angie,
You are good to go. Nothing else needs to be done.

Hi Angie. If I am running by myself I run around my neighborhood. Fortunatley if I choose to, I can run on the "path" that the mail person has made on the side of the road. If I run with a group, I may run around Belle Isle and/or the Buttermilk trail in Richmond.

Oh, well that is great!! I wish u luck with it, it really helped me & now I find following a program to be the way to go! After g28k & OHR in a few weeks I plan to start a 10k program. Someone mentioned Hal Higdens 10k training. I am going to check it out. Let me know how Wed goes for you!

The BPG group has all levels of running ability. The start time is 7am sharp during the heat of summer. Woo (the Menace) works w/the beginners and intermediates. We meet at the start of the Vita course and break up for different workouts. If you come out Woo will put you in the correct group. There is more than just running but the best advice I can offer is to come out and check things out and see if you like it.
