I've been bitten by this Ultra Trail running bug and anxious to try any race. Trail runs and Ultras have become the next big thing. Races are selling out in weeks and have waiting list now so I'm all for looking and trying new races but I will try to keep the Beast Series Races a part of my usual routine if I can.
I haven't decided what I am going to do about Richmond. I have already signed up for the MMTR in Nov. (which is about 2 weeks before Richmond) and I am pretty sure I am going to run Helgate in Dec. (about 2 wks. after Richmond). I was thinking maybe I would run the Richmond 1/2 as a recovery but I also thought about just spectating this year.
Marianna, I believe, is running Grindstone in Oct. plus all of the above and the full Richmond so I feel pretty wimpy not running anything. I have to think about it some more.
My running schedule right now is PH1/2 in Aug., BRR in Sept., Oct. nothing, MMTR 50 in Nov., possibly Richmond 1/2 or full in Nov., and Hellgate in Dec. I will pick up in Jan. with the Swingingbridge 50K, then HL, TM, and finish up the 1st part of the season with PL. I will take the summer off (continue lighter training) and start all over again but adding Grindstone next Oct., 2011.
That's what I am shooting for.
What's going on? Are you still hitting the roads/trails? This heat is killing me but I continue to run. I'm helping coach the Patrick Henry 1/2 MT and getting ready to get geared up for a busy Fall/winter race season.
What are your plans for the Fall. I will be hitting the trails again soon so I will be ready for the Blue Ridge Relay in Sept., MMTR 50 in Nov. and Hellgate in Dec.
We need to catch up with each other soon.
Take care,
Drew
So how do you feel post PL50? I think you just ran AWESOME!!! Way to hit your goal.
Run Happy
Send me your email address and I'll send you the schedule that I plan to follow from now until HL.
Doug
I look forward to more training runs.
