That's a pretty busy schedule!

I am not sure I'll ever be able to do Grindstone or Hellgate since they fall on my kids birthdays....maybe someday we can do Western States together (how do you feel about doing 100 miles?).

LOL - Doug

Drew, I was on the Poor Farm trails yesterday with my wife and kids...just hanging out (not running). I am training hard for the Richmond marathon (will run PH1/2 as well). I want to PR Richmond. Then, I'll plan to run Swinging Bridge, Holiday Lake, Terrapin Mountain and Promise Land again. That's my long range plan...right now my entire focus is Richmond.

I am getting in about 35 - 40 miles per week with long runs about 15-17 miles. I am going on vacation starting this coming weekend so my schedule is going tobe crazy. When I get back, I'd love to hook up for a run. Talk to you soon. Doug

Yes, yes, yes and yes. The hotel is good. This is one race where most runners attend both dinners. The bus is the only option unless you have a ride to the start from a crew person. Unfortunately the bus is also the only option back to Lynchburg from the finish line, unless you have someone to meet you at the finish. Most runners ride the buses. Once you get back to the hotel on Saturday, you can shower and head downstairs to the post-race dinner and awards...well worth staying for. Note re drop bags: you can have two bags on the bus. A small "drop bag" that they will put out for you at mile 26 (then they'll load it back on the bus and take it to the finish line). And another bag that has warm, dry clothes & shoes to change into at the finish line before you ride the bus back to the hotel. Also pack some money...the store in Montebello has awesome soup. :)

How are you feeling post PL50? You should be very proud of your finish. You finished strong.

Drew, happy to help with any questions or trail advice (and you're under no obligation to actually take my advice!)

Hi Drew. Hope you're well. Thanks for the support offer for the Grindstone 100 miler, and Hellgate 100k. That's very, very generous of you. I'm pondering on just doing the LUS instead of the Beast series lately. I'll see how I'm feeling after Holiday Lake, Terrapin, and Promise Land. I'm way undertrained for Holiday Lake. My last real long run was the Swinging Bridge. I've only been running 4-6 milers 3 days a week.

Drew - sorry to hear about your bug. You can whip it before week's end...just take it easy. Heck, you're supposed to be tapering anyway, right? It sucked out there in the 10 deg weather this morning anyway.

Chris - we are a pretty diverse group both in age and in running ability that meets in front of the ABC store just down from Ukrop's there at J. Rolfe & Ridgefield. A couple of people meet on Tues. mornings at 5:30 for a short 4 mile run. The larger group meets on Wed. mornings at 5:15 for longer runs. This Wed. we are running 8 miles thru Raintree and Thurs. we are doing hill repeats at 5:30am. Most of us are training for Shammrock or some other winter/fall race.
We have varying paced runners from 7 mins. to 10+ mins.
Come join us this Wed. if you can and see if our group will work out for you.

Drew - what's the John Rolfe Crew? I live out that way and would love to find some company for longer mid-week runs.
