Before the Cherry Blossom race, I was toying with the idea of trying to run the Patrick Henry 1/2 Marathon in August. After running 10 miles on Sunday in warm temps, I was thinking to myself-Do I really want to run 13.1 miles in August heat?? No:) Maybe Shamrock 1/2 in March 2011:)

Janal:

Course was pretty neat. Got goosebumps seeing sunrise over Washington Monument. Was bummed that Cherry Blossoms had already bloomed:( If course kicked you behind, then it double kicked mine:) I was just thankful to make it to the end. It was warmer than I expected and the heat got to me. Think it got to alot of people towards the end. Saw people with ice packs on interesting body areas:) Definitely, do race again. Are you training for any other races?

Janal, Lost your message somewhere. We had a wonderful trip to Memphis and saw Graceland and the Memphis Zoo on Thursday and Friday. The weather was fine for the race on Saturday and the course was good. Just should have scheduled the site seeing after the marathon, but I knew that.

Janal, Make sure you sign it at the truck tomorrow and help at the finish line to get your credit. Check out the prelim 2009 race schedule and see what RRRC races you can run. RRRC races will be pretty much be the same weekend as last year. Most of the RRRC races are quite inexpensive and I always targeted them. Yes, the Turkey Trot course is a challenge.
