The 13th Annual RRRC Trail races formerly called the Swinging Bridge Trail Runs. The name was changed because the course changes no longer included the Swinging Bridge.The trial is designated a "wilderness trail" by the State Forest Department. It is challenging, not because of elevation, but because there are significant "blow downs" to run over, around and through. Instant Classic Marathon (& Half!) Trail Race at Pocahontas State Park

Maymont X-Country Festival at Maymont - Hampton Street Entrance

Along with the Open 5k on Friday evening and 8-Miler Trail Run first thing Saturday morning, there are shorter distance events for Elementary and Middle School kids, the event also features high school teams.  There will be thousands of competitors, live bands, a live announcer, food vendors and a great event set up.

It was great seeing you as well Nigel.  I probably should have warmed up the legs a little more before the start, but I survived with just some minor calf soreness.  I had forgotten how many turns and ups and downs were in this race.  You ran a good race as well.  Now I'm ready for some warmer weather and some shorter distances.  See you soon!

Yes, it's Tue Oct 19, and we will start at 6 PM this time. Julia of FIT Richmond is offering free strength primer at 6:30 so we can warm up with the run, pump irons to work up appetite and run back to savor for the much needed beer. :) See you then!
