Henricus Dauber Dash at Henricus Historical Park Chester, VA 23836

June 23, 2012 from 9am to 12pm
Take a trail that’s fun to run any day of the week and throw in a bunch of intenseobstacles, and you’ve got yourself one heckuva race! Did we mention there’s a muddy 1-miler for the kiddos and a rockin’ post-race festival? Yeah, it all amounts to this strangely awesome combo of history and nature mixed with mud, sweat and… beer. This 5-miler may start and finish on a historic settlement and wind through a scenic…See More

I am more of a duo person. I can jog or bike all day long. I can swim (as in "this ship is going down swim for your life") I am just a very inefficient swimmer. I burn massive amounts of fuel to move ten feet. That is something I am trying to work on because I would really like to be able to add swimming to my workout options. I did not make it to nationals thins year and was very unhappy about it. (I had chemistry class, a very long story in itself). I can only imagine on the bike, friend of mine just paid 3k for one. I have been doing pretty good with my training. I think everyone has ups and downs and I have been on a pretty good up for a while. First, and most important, I am healthy. Been enjoying a good mix of jogging, biking and stair climbing with different variations of each in there, as well as some pretty fun cross training in the mix. It's not very practical at work to be 100% cardio. As far as what I like, I do really enjoy duo events, a good 10k trail and a road run anywhere from 10k to half marathon. How about you? PS, I like the pic, it is from when I went dog sledding just north of Fairbanks, Alaska. It didn't transfer very well and I am not sure if that is my fault or not, see if I can get a better one up.

Yea, and its sad when you can say that by comparison, mine ONLY cost around 1K. So do you do a lot of duos or tris?

Ha. I am pretty sure you were there at West Creek when I dropped my road bike last year. And yes, it is ok if you laughed.

Rebecca,
Your family can walk and opt out at any point. The course loops out from the Student Center and comes back where they can stop if they want a couple of times. Most of the course is on roads. There is a little trail by the lake at the Student Center.
