I'll look for you at the Carytown 10K...I've never run that race so it will be a new experience for me...I'm looking forward to it. It would be good to get out at the right pace this time instead of starting too fast...getting out too fast leads to trouble everytime!

Rod...it was great seeing you in Ashland. You ran well two weeks in a row...you probably need some rest now (if you're sore like me)! I don't have any more races scheduled until Carytown. I hope to see you there. Let me know if you sign up for something between now and then. Doug

Hi Rod...the Monument Ave 10K was a nice easy run for me...it was a great opp to support Stephanie and pace her...I think she was happy with her race; she finished strong and ran a good tactical race for her level of conditioning...I see you ran a 50:14...are you happy with that? Seems pretty good to me...just over 8 min/mile. I am going to use the Ashland 10K to gauge my fitness level and determine my marathon goal...looks like I am going to train with the Sportsbackers Team. I was really impressed at the meeting last week and think the program will really help me PR the marathon. I hope to see you in Ashland!

Rod,

Thanks for the marathon training information. I'll probably try to go to one of the information sessions at noon either Thursday or Friday. Great seeing you yesterday...we must get together at Ashland 10K if we don't see each other at the Monument Avenue 10K. Either way, I hope you PR the race on Saturday.

I've had a bad cold this week. I couldn't figure out why my Monday Tuesday and Wednesday runs were going so poorly until I got a scratchy throat late Wednesday. I skipped Thursday and Friday which I was mostly in bed. I'm going for a short run today and a longer one tomorrow. I didn't want to give the cold to the group this close to the race and I figured I'd have to bail after 3-4 miles anyway. I'm happy you guys had a good run and its good to be missed. The group definitely helps. Its a lot easier to quit on yourself than on the running group. Sio, I missed you guys too, but I'll see you Wednesday. Tell me about the massages then. Take Care!
