The 13th Annual RRRC Trail races formerly called the Swinging Bridge Trail Runs. The name was changed because the course changes no longer included the Swinging Bridge.The trial is designated a "wilderness trail" by the State Forest Department. It is challenging, not because of elevation, but because there are significant "blow downs" to run over, around and through. On October 6, 2012 Hanover Safe Place will host its 14th Annual Pumpkin Run, a race to end domestic and sexual violence. Held at the Ashland Berry Farm, in Beaverdam, the Pumpkin Run is a 5k trail run through the pumpkin patches. The 8 Mile trail run starts and finishes on the grounds of Maymont. The unique course features the Buttermilk and North trails as the loop through the James River Park. The 8 Miler utilizes wave starts in order to control volume on the trails, so you will be asked to indicate your predicted time when you register. All 8 Miler registrants will receive a technical race shirt!

This run is sponsored by the Richmond Marine Corps League to support various veterans organizations as the Families of the Wounded Fund, Wounded Warriors and Semper Fi Fund.
