I run because...
it relaxes me. Running is my "me" time. Most of the time, I just lose myself in the music on my playlist. It's my time to not think about anything and just have a long Michelle moment. It's my time to meditate and appreciate nature by looking at the trees, feeling the wind against me and hearing the insects and animals. I run because I like that my mind can be in any of these places. All of these places are opportunities for peace and rejuvination.

I started running...
after I gave birth to my son around the end of 2011. I wanted to exercise as soon as possible to lose the baby fat from the pregnancy. The first race I ran was the Run Like a Girl (RLaG) on May 6, 2012 in honor of the HERA Women's Cancer Foundation for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was not until after I registered for the race that I learned my aunt was battling ovarian cancer. It made training for the race even more special and important to me. I asked a few friends to join me…

Everyone has his favorite (or least favorite) experience in a particular marathon. Miles and Minutes is collecting anecdotes from this year's Anthem Richmond Marathon (humorous, painful, rewarding...) for a story to appear in the January-February edition. Please send your submissions to milesandminutes@gmail.com

The Bryan Park Group
Good afternoon, Richmond Runners. The Bryan Park Group is training for the half marathon, and we welcome participation from other RRRC members. We meet in the parking lot across from the soccer fields in Bryan Park every Saturday at 7 a.m. Our distance runs will include well-stocked SAG stops that are hosted by our members that live in Bellevue, and BPers have seen great results with their half marathon times.
As part of our training, we try to run the actual route three…

DISCLAIMER-I know zombies aren't real. However, I spent at least a year analyzing locations, weapons, and sharing my knowledge about how to be successful in the upcoming "apocalypse". You quickly learn there are 2 types of people. Those who will be saved, and those who won't.....
Running is contagious. Corey's girlfriend went with us last December to watch us run a half marathon. She's run a few 5Ks before, but this was the longest race she has watched. Stephanie is a…

It's been a while. A long while. Yesterday was the first day running outside in a looooong time. This is blog worthy because the run felt GOOD! My running had really tapered off. I hated it, didn't want to do it, so, I did the bare minimum. I knew that to feel successful I needed patience, but mine really ran out. The weight came, I got slower. I got slower, didn't like to run...See the problem? I tried to trick myself into thinking that it was ok that I was slow, as long as I ran. …

At the begining we never knew this estate existed. We had bought a bigger boat and had it moored at Gold Coast City Marina, the only thing that bothered us about being there it was so far to get out on the broad water. We met some loverly people there that told us about this land out here for sale, not even…

Running never felt so good...
So with the school year winding down (I am a teacher) and summer job starting up (I work for the Flying Squirrels) I have been super busy and super pumped about my runs. Saturday was an awful run. I recently read in a running magazine that if you eat small before a morning run and then feast when you get home you have more energy for your run...um yeah that did not work so well for me. I only had half a banana and small nibble of some peanut butter....I felt like lead. It was not good and my…

Getting Back into it
So I have recently started to get back into running...at the ripe age of 29 =) I ran my first marathon in 2005 and then kind of dropped off the map. I have since been looking for things to fill my time and to stay in shape and I figured why not get back into running. I've already signed myself up for about 4 races this year. So far I am most excited about Color Me Rad. I am running this race with some friends and family and can not wait for it! The next race I am excited about is…

Time to Shift Gears
I had to shift this training program into a higher gear last week. Learned the JFK 50 Mile Ultra has entry qualifications. I was not aware of this until they posted registration on their website. I can do it, but it’s going to be tough. The cleanest way is to run a sub 3:45 marathon before the first tier registration period ends on May 10th. The cheesiest is to get a charity entry. There are…

How SEO Company Victoria helps me
Starting a new leaf in life is never easy. Just like building a new website.
There are a lot of things to do and things to consider. As a website owner myself,
I decided to hire a reliable seo company victoria .
It took me a while to decide on building my own site for my small-owned business.
I am really happy and contented with what they did to my website.
