Supporting running in the metro Richmond area
So with the school year winding down (I am a teacher) and summer job starting up (I work for the Flying Squirrels) I have been super busy and super pumped about my runs. Saturday was an awful run. I recently read in a running magazine that if you eat small before a morning run and then feast when you get home you have more energy for your run...um yeah that did not work so well for me. I only had half a banana and small nibble of some peanut butter....I felt like lead. It was not good and my run tracker on my ipod (it's free and if you have an Iphone i suggest this ap.) said I ran 2.8 miles with a 9:13 pace. not good and I didnt even make three miles...woof!!
So after the game on Sunday I went for a r un at 7 ish. I ran almost 4 miles and knocked my times to a 9:04 pace...and with each mile I decreased my mile. That made me happy. I can't quite figure out the difference in days excepts for one day I ran in the AM and the next I ran in the PM. Could that make that much of a difference?? Also, on Saturday I didn't have as many things running through my mind as I did on Sunday. Maybe I am one who as they process events from the day it drives my motiviation to work harder and beat something since I have no control over the other things going on in my life.... I guess I can thank the males in my life right now for not only driving me crazy but helping me to reach my goal of a 8:30 mile..."why thank you boys..."
We will see what this week brings...hopefully more decreased time (and as always...more motiviation from men whose sole purpose is to drive women insane =0 )
